Q.  HOW DO I ENROLL MY CHILD IN ONE OF THE ELITE DANCE TEAMS?

A.  Placement on the five Elite Dance Teams are determined by the Open Space instructors, based on age and ability which are exhibited during Dance Team Try-Outs which usually are held every July, so teams can begin learning routines to take to competition.

Q.  HOW DO I KNOW WHAT CLASS TO ENROLL MY CHILD IN AS A NEW STUDENT?

A.  Whether your child has prior dance experience or not will help to decide which class to begin with.  Our team of instructors would be happy to work with you to decide what the best fit would be for your child!  You can email us at anytime if you need assistance!

Q.  AT WHAT AGE DO YOU ACCEPT STUDENTS?

A.  We have a parent and tot class that you and your child can join as young as a year old, and we begin to accept students on their own at 18 mos!

Q.  CAN I ENROLL MY CHILD IN THE MIDDLE OF A SESSION?

A.  We always want to welcome new students into our studio family.  We are thrilled to accept students into recreational classes any time between the beginning of the session in September until the 1st of the new year.  Once the second half of the session begins, the students are learning a new routine for the annual recital, and we close registration for the session.

Q.  IS THERE A LATE FEE?

A. If tuition is not received by the tenth of the month, a $10 late fee will be automatically applied to your account by the system.  Please make sure to pay attention to the card you keep on file in the family portal for the automatic withdrawal.  Many times cards are lost and replaced, or expire, causing automatic payments to be declined.  Please note that our staff is not responsible for monitoring individual credit or debit cards; it is your responsibility to ensure the information is current and accurate to avoid late fees.

Q. HOW DO I PAY?

A. Our Tuition is billed monthly and on a "Per class" basis.  Tuition is due on the first of the month.  Families are encouraged- though not required-- to set up an automatic payment option through your family portal, which is established upon registration.  If you choose not to utilize this automatic payments, there is a tuition box in the studio adjacent to the waiting room.  Cash or personal checks are accepted.  Please make checks out to Open Space Studio.

10% MILITARY DISCOUNT

We are forever grateful to the men and women of the armed forces who make our country safe every day.  We are proud, as we always have, to offer a 10% discount to our military families to express our appreciation for all that they do.

10% ANNUAL PRE-PAY DISCOUNT

Any family that chooses to pay for the entire session up front is more than welcome to do so, and Open Space will take a 10% discount off of the tuition for the year. This discount is available to all students enrolled, including Elite Dance Team Members!

SIBLING DISCOUNT

10% For 2nd sibling, 15% for 3rd, 20% for 4th.  As our little studio has grown over the past 12 years, we are seeing more siblings joining our studio, and nothing makes us more happy than to see dance become a family affair. In light of this, we have increased the sibling discount to show our appreciation for those families that allow multiple children be part of our studio family. We like to think of it as a loyalty program of sorts! This means that a second sibling will receive a 10% discount, a third will receive 15%,and a fourth will receive 20% etc

MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNT

We also offer a discount to students taking multiple classes.  Adding a second class comes at a 5% discount, while a third comes at a 10% discount.  This discount will be calculated by tuitions sorted from highest to lowest cost.

leave no child behind: open space scholarship program

When Open Space Studio first opened in 2010, it did so on the founding principle that a student’s love for dance or any expression of passion should never be dependent on their socioeconomic or financial status.  That is why we take pride in making instruction available to young people drawn to the art of dance through our in-house scholarship program.  To that effect, Miss Nicole has awarded scholarships for roughly 15 to 20 percent of our total student enrollment every year for the past decade.

Scholarships at Open Space Studio are need-based and awarded by studio management to students who have proven to show a commitment to dance practice. Since the majority of the fund comes directly from the studio, we have the ability to facilitate these  scholarship awards in a variety of means.  For some students, the award manifests through comped or discounted tuition, while for others we may cover fees to third-party vendors for things such as costumes or competition entry fees, or even something as simple as offering a family we know is struggling at the time a 4-pack of recital tickets.

The studio funds the majority of the scholarship program directly out of it's profits . This has not always been an easy task for a small business to manage, but somehow Miss Nicole has made it work.  More importantly, we could not make this program a success without the generous private donations that we have received from our families and local community.  These combined with our famous decade-old tradition of the Fifty/Fifty Raffle held at the Annual Recital helps to carry the fund over the finish line each year--just in time to start the process all over again for the incoming fall session!

We know that everyone is experiencing  difficult financial strains due to the pandemic, but if you are able and would like to donate to our scholarship fund, please know that you are helping to fulfill a dream for a student who otherwise may not get the opportunity...
